The Block and The City
It is a series of graphics created with only two matrices. The first is a geometric form that resembles crystal in its appearance. It is a permanent and heavy element of the composition in many variations of graphics. In this case, aqua forts and aqua-tints have been applied to give this solid an desired texture. The second is space - a panorama of the city disappearing in the air perspective towards the horizon. To reflect its details, I used the traditional technique of serigraphy. The space subjected to various treatments of changing color and distortion, supposed to position the block in the image, throwing it forward from itself, thus creating a surreal, intriguing atmosphere. The whole series is therefore a game of dependencies between the two objects. The problem of the relationship between the object and space is discussed here.
